Environmental Engineer

 

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER

HSA is looking to invest in an intelligent, motivated environmental engineer who can demonstrate past academic acuity and current work ethic. This position will require an applicant who has or can obtain a Florida P.E. in Environmental, Chemical or Civil  Engineering, with over 5 years of  Environmental project management experience. 

 

Under the direction of the department manager, the candidate will be responsible for completing project tasks, including field work, performing environmental sampling and remedial actions, preparing remedial designs, and report writing.  Typical projects include assessment and remediation of chlorinated solvents, pesticides, petroleum , and metals for private and public clients, including state, federal and local and international entities.   In addition to remediation, typical projects also include risk assessment and bench/pilot-scale testing. A technical background in a variety of remedial technologies, specifically bioremediation a plus.  Typical field activities include sampling various media, completing field paperwork, documentation of site activities, and directing subcontractors.  Typical office tasks include data entry and evaluation, report writing, evaluations and design of remedial systems, and evaluation of system performance and effectiveness.

FIRE INVESTIGATOR

HSA is seeking a Fire Investigator for the West Palm Beach Office. The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of fire science and building construction and be qualified as an expert witness and be prepared to offer testimony in cases involving fire and explosions. This candidate must also be familiar with NFFPA 921 and NFPA 1033; have CFEI and/or CFI certification or be qualified to test for both within 6 months; and be qualified to become a private investigator and hold a valid Florida Class "C" License. A Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science or Criminal Justice is desired.

Responsibilities of this candidate will include: analyzing fire cause by applying scientific principles; ability to conduct investigations in commercial properties, residential structures automobiles, boats, and heavy equipment; and capable of visiting sites and handling all phases of fire/explosion investigations with little or no supervision.
