Decommissioning & Demolition
The objective of the building decommissioning specifications and implementation phases is to decommission the facility therefor a site may be redeveloped, sold, or otherwise meet the goals of the client. Based upon two decades of involvement in the decommissioning and demolition of a wide variety of small and large commercial and industrial facilities, HSA has developed a unique approach to each specific project depending upon the type of facility and the specific requirements of the client. We have successfully demolished and decommissioned large industrial manufacturing and mining facilities, as well as chemical, pesticides, and petroleum-related facilities where environmentally harmful materials must be managed prior to demolition. Our demolition services have included buildings, structures, tanks, vessels, and process equipment with minimal inconvenience to the daily operations of an active facility and impact to the environment and the local community.
HSA’s turnkey approach to facility decommissioning/demolition projects typically includes: environmental site assessment, property condition assessment, structural evaluation, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, resource recovery, and environmental remediation. HSA also has the capabilities and experience to provide equipment dismantling, and has developed an extensive network of used-equipment buyers, brokers, and end users to offer our clients the most value for their idled facility. This allows us to provide our clients with cost-effective solutions on their decommissioning projects.
