Environmental Claims
Due to the broad spectrum of environmental forensics, the management of environmental claims is a highly specialized process. Contamination and consequential damage and loss can result from: 1) the gradual accumulation of contamination from ongoing manufacturing activities, industrial operations and treatment, storage and disposal operations; 2) accidental events (machinery or facility equipment failure or breaches in containment); 3) negligence in the design and/or performance of standard operations; 4) natural disasters (wet weather, storms, hurricanes, wildfires); 5) criminal acts and vandalism; and 6) naturally occurring substances. In these instances, HSA resolves challenging environmental problems with the capabilities and commitment to emergency action, causation investigation, project management, remediation, and resource support.
When the most complex and challenging issues face clients, HSA is at its best using the integrated resources available from a qualified and strategically assembled staff. HSA’s multi-disciplinary staff of engineers, scientists, ecologists, and risk assessors investigates and provides defensible data to clients who must meet the demands and requirements of litigation, insurance claims coverage, and governmental regulations. They have specifically acted as testifying and non-testifying experts on cases involving the above-mentioned both in the U.S. and abroad. Our staff members are routinely invited to speak at various academic, public interest, and corporate seminars on environmental issues; have chaired several scientific conferences; served on expert advisory Boards; and have hundreds of technical publications to their credit and have served as professors at local universities.
