Fire Investigations
Understanding how and why things fail and, in turn, how these failures can lead to fires and explosions is a large part of HSA’s Fire Investigation Division. These failures may be mechanical, electrical, or material in nature; however, often times the root-cause may be attributed to human intervention or system failures. When an explosion or fire does occur, reconstructing the scene and determining the cause can be a challenging process that requires a combination of talents, education and experience. Correctly identifying the point of fire origin is paramount. Without being able to determine the area of origin, establishing a cause is problematical and subject to question.
HSA’s certified fire investigators (cfis) can aid in the analysis of fire incidents for industrial, commercial and agricultural facilities, as well as residential, multi-tenant, and municipal facilities. Our qualified staff of certified investigators is seasoned fire service professionals with decades of practical experience and knowledge. We have the ability to respond to fire scenes, determine the fire causation, and successfully support our clients all through the litigation process. Our loss prevention engineering background provides a solid basis for multi-faceted forensic investigations. We understand process safety management, the role that human factors play in incident causation, and what successful risk management programs must address. Analyzing losses by understanding their root causes --that's what HSA’s Fire Investigation Division is about.
