What We Do
Geotechnical Engineering
We strive to ensure that when our clients begin to build, they build on solid ground with a solid plan. As scientists and engineers, HSA’s geotechnical professionals bring technical expertise, knowledge and experience to bear on each assignment. We strive to maintain flexibility in our scope of geotechnical services in order to meet the needs of each project from site reconnaissance and subsurface exploration, through data analysis and engineering design, to specification review and onsite construction services. When specialized services are required, our staff of geotechnical professionals coordinate with personnel from throughout our organization to supplement local knowledge and experience with the broader base of skills, capabilities, and experiences of our full geotechnical team.
In over 20 years of providing quality geotechnical engineering services, we’ve learned there is rarely only one solution to a geotechnical design or construction issue. The crucial element our staff of geotechnical professionals brings to each project is a willingness to recognize that alternatives do exist and an eagerness to explore those alternatives. In addition, we pride ourselves in tempering our scope of evaluation services and ultimate recommendations with both common and business sense. Our project experience includes utility installations, infrastructure studies, bridge foundations, pavement design and evaluations, stormwater treatment design, shallow spread footing foundations, mat foundations, driven and auger‐cast piles and drilled piers.
At HSA, we believe that our recommendations can only be as good as the data used in our evaluations. To that end, HSA owns and operates a fleet of drill rigs equipped with advanced tools and in situ testing equipment. In addition, our fully equipped laboratories are also equipped with personnel and apparatus accepted and approved by numerous regulatory agencies.
