Stormwater Management
HSA provides full-service watershed and stormwater management solutions extending from drainage design to complex systems modeling, to the complete design and construction of extensive storm sewer systems and stormwater treatment facilities, to water quality restoration, public policy development, and regulatory compliance. We use innovative technologies to rapidly characterize watersheds so that we can focus on the development of cost-effective solutions for stormwater management. HSA has used a number of forensic techniques that use isotopes and geochemical tracers to identify distinct water masses within a mixed water and can often assess the origin of nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. This is especially helpful in development of appropriate BMPs and TMDLs for surface water bodies.
We have built our stormwater management services to focus on runoff management and other water quality and quantity issues that can influence the environment and long-term regulatory compliance management. Our experience includes all facets of stormwater management, including evaluating stormwater problems, preparing and implementing stormwater sampling and monitoring programs, evaluating data related to stormwater quality, performing tracking studies for pollutant loading and pollutant sources, evaluating the performance of stormwater treatment facilities, selecting appropriate site-specific stormwater management options, preparing detailed designs for stormwater management facilities, planning and designing erosion and sediment controls for construction sites, and preparing documentation for design and permitting purposes. We use innovative technologies to rapidly characterize watersheds so that we can focus on the development of cost-effective solutions for stormwater management.
