Founded in 1989, HSA Engineers & Scientists has its origins as an environmental and geotechnical engineering consulting firm. The firm was envisioned by Nicholas Albergo, P.E., DEE and David Scott, P.E., MSCE, shortly after their graduation from the University of South Florida. HSA was founded on the proposition that high expectations are the key to everything, and that each client has unique needs that require individual solutions, and that the right application will provide our clients with cost-effective solutions to their engineering issues.
In 1999, Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (CRA), one of the world’s leading engineering and environmental consultants, acquired a minority interest in HSA. Headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, CRA has more than 30 years of experience in providing high quality and responsive services, and has grown to over 90 offices and more than 3,000 professionals working on projects worldwide. This strategic alignment further expanded HSA’s capabilities in environmental and geotechnical engineering while allowing for expansions into other related engineering disciplines, with specific expertise in the fields of forensic engineering, water resources, construction services, and engineering design.
Now, our ability to draw upon the significant resources and expertise companywide represents our greatest strength in exceeding your expectations, as well as assuring the continued technical growth and geographic reach of our firm. To further our success, HSA continues to acquire talented staff individually as well as through the acquisition of smaller firms who have been extremely successful on their own, as well as having "maintained" a reputation and commitment to engineering excellence through practical applications.
As was the vision of our founders, HSA will perpetuate its constant desire to maintain our margin of superiority through a commitment to our culture that ensures happy employees, and by means of improvements including expansions into new service areas and the implementation of innovative ideas.
